Details:
Perfect viewing conditions for this year's Perseid meteor shower at a dark-sky site in Southern Oregon. The first photo of the Milky Way and two meteors was taken at 1:24AM local time, just after moonset. The second photo was taken at 4:28AM, about 30 minutes before dawn. It was the first time I have ever observed zodiacal light with the naked eye, and was especially pleased to capture a Perseid meteor and zodiacal light on the same exposure. I am still sorting through my photos for more - one 30 second exposure captured four different meteors. What an awesome night! Details: Canon EOS 70D, Samyang 10mm f/2.8, 30 second exposures, ISO 6400
