Details:
Taking a break from meteors, planets, and comets, I decided to visit one of the gems of the summer sky. The 8th object in Messier's Catalog, this vast HII Emission Nebula lies 4000-6000 light years from Earth. Its actual size is 110 x 50 light years in diameter. Imaged this object using a Stellarvue 102ED refractor and a Canon XS DSLR, ISO800. The 25 x 180second stack was processed using ImagesPlus and PS5.
