The forecast was dismal, but persistence won out! The sky started to clear at 11:30 pm on the 11th. My first shot was at 11:34, last shot at 5:51 am of the 12th! I caught 70 meteors in all, many small wisps, a fair amount of nice bright meteors, and several nice fireballs. I missed about 8-10 nice ones including 3 fireballs in between shutter close and open; bad timing! I believe the peak for me was between 1:00 am - 1:30 am Eastern time zone. In that 1/2 hour I captured 11 meteors with a single camera (the 14mm with an angle of view about 90 degrees). Most of my misses occurred then also. I would estimate the rate at 150-200 an hour then! I rounded up another camera and started using it at 4:06 am, but the peak had come and gone! Glad I did though; the nicest fireball I caught (first pic), and the twilight fireball (last pic), were with that camera! First and last pics are with Canon T4i, 18-55mm at f3.5, first 10 seconds, last 4 seconds at ISO 3200 and 1600 respectively. Middle 2 pics are with a Canon T2i, Rokinon 14mm at f2.8, 10 seconds at ISO 3200. Many nice fireballs tracked the Milky Way! I'll shoot there tonight if the forecast is wrong again; not counting on it!
