Details:
Caught this unexpectedly while trying to capture Perseids. I'm not sure if it's airglow or an effect of the lights of Aberfoyle to the north of my location. I'm not sure that the north sky is dark enough to see airglow at this time of year. There was no auroral activity at the time. Your thoughts please.

Someone 200 miles further north got the same effect and reported rays so it looks like aurora after all. The magnetometer reading from Lancaster Uni showed only a mild disturbance but it seems that was enough.

Thats aurora mate...There has been plenty times I have been on Nairn beach when there was not been any significant activity according to any data,and managed to see some noticeable displays..It looks very much like you have picked up really faint activity,that you may not have noticed otherwise
