Here are some stronger colored pictures from 04 August which show Mercury, the waxing New Moon, Venus and then Regulus as they appeared in the sunset twilight sky over Christmas Pass, Mutare. The first two images show the crescent Moon with Mercury (above) and Venus (below) when the sky immediately above the horizon was still bright red. As the twilight faded (third picture) Regulus became clearly visible to complete an isosceles triangle. The animation shows the twilight sky behind the crescent Moon changing color as it fades to darkness. The pictures were taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera using sunset scenery and then manual exposure settings.
