Details:
As we get into late July, the chances of a mammoth NLC display wane in the lower 50s of latitude, but on the night of July 24/25 we were treated to a fantastic display in morning twilight. There was lots of interaction with a coincident aurora (third picture). At their lowest point, the NLC were a degree off the horizon with the solar depression st the Namao site at a cavernous 16.8 degrees (last picture). The first two photos, at the height of the display close to 0400 local time, were taken at the Castledowns Park Pavilion, with the NLC reflecting off the building's mirrors.
