Details:
The first photo shows Mercury and Venus forming a triangle with a departing airplane. The second one shows Venus, another airplane and a lenticular cloud, while the third photo shows the two inner planets only 57 arcminutes apart. Finally, a 14-frame animation shows Venus and Mercury at 20:44 UTC a few minutes before setting. The animated gif spans a total time period of 40 seconds. A Canon PowerShot SX60 HS camera was used with zoom magnifications around 100 times between 20:37 and 20:46 UTC. PhotoScape was used to create the animation and for slight post-processing to improve contrast and reduce noise.
