Details:
I hope someone can tell me what this 'halo' effect is. Just before 7am, I looked out my apartment balcony window (faces SW) and noticed that a low fog had drifted in from the Ottawa River. On both sides of the shadow cast by my apartment building (centre) were two very distinct bright lines on the top of the fog bank. Details: Lumix FZ-200 camera, video pan of area and a few video stills were stitched together.

Not a halo, since halos are due to ice crystal light interaction. The image shows two sections of a so-called fogbow. Thats actually nothing else than a Rainbow, but then formed by tiny fog droplets. By that reason, the spectral colours are not more as saturated as in an all-day Rainbow. Very weak colours are still visible however in the picture.
