Details:
Earth's orbit is not perfectly circular, and this causes a little difference in the apparent diameter of our Sun, as seen from the surface of our planet. And obviously this difference is enhanced between the Perihelion and Aphelion.
Thanks to this comparison we can easily see the proportion of this difference, that is invisible to the naked eye, but that is absolutely there! Less than 10 millions km creates it, and with high magnification it can be appreciated.
The image of the Perihelion is from January 7th, while the one of the Aphelion is from July 3rd, with an ISS transit. The written dates and distances are referred to the effective days of the two events.
