Details:
After much brilliant sunshine from clear skies in June, smoke haze from early dry season bush fires is now beginning to reduce visibility. Yesterday afternoon (02 July) took a trip up into the Bvumba mountains which overlook Mutare and took the accompanying photographs of the sun setting through smoke haze from the summit of Mount Chinziwa which is about 1700 meters above sea level and 600 meters above the town. Just after the sun had disappeared below the horizon, flames from some of the fires causing the haze became visible on a hillside below (last photograph). The pictures were taken using a hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in sunset auto mode.
