a very unusual sunset for the south Okanagan Valley here in British Columbia Canada... or is this the first display of NCL that I have ever seen??? If so it's a wonderful HAPPY CANADA DAY suprise.... but I am not sure... feel free to weigh in if you know! thanks NikonD750 82mm f5.6 iso 100 8 sec

Hi Gail,

From my point of view, it looks like more an usual summer blue sky at sunset (your EXIF data are missing, but it s clearly just after sunset) seen through dark altostratus clouds.
No -bands-, -filaments- or typical waves shapes can be seen on the full resolution picture.
+ At 49,5° North (I am at 48,8° N...), you have to be very lucky to see NLCs...

Have to agree with Sylvain, I shot similar shots in Calgary the other day thinking they might be NLCs. Good Luck and keep the eyes open!
