Details:
June 20th is not only the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, but there was also a Full Moon. At 5.57 am, Mutare was treated to the spectacle of an almost perfectly full moon setting behind some hills to the west of Chikanga suburb. The night sky was clear and visibility was very good, so a time-lapse sequence of 55 photographs at three second intervals was taken using a tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera with manual exposure and x60 zoom magnification. These were used to produce the accompanying animated gif which captures the beauty of the event.
