Details:
On 11 June at 23.06 LT the First Quarter Moon colored orange-red by atmospheric haze was observed setting behind the tree-lined summit of Murahwa Mountain to the west of Mutare. This was captured in a series of 30 photographs taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in manual exposure mode and x60 zoom magnification. The still picture which shows the Moon setting behind some trees is followed by an animated gif compiled from the full time-lapse sequence. The third and fourth images taken less than an hour earlier include Jupiter which was close by. Some moons of Jupiter are visible in the last one which was exposed to bring out Earthshine. As the terminator of the First Quarter Moon in all of the photographs is nearly horizontal the sun was figuratively almost directly below my feet.
