Details:
The first photo shows Jupiter only 1.1° north of the 45% illuminated crescent Moon at 16:39 local time (GMT-3h: 19:39 UT). The other three photos were taken 3 hours earlier, between 13:31 and 13:37 (16:31-16:37 UT), when the Moon and Jupiter were a bit closer, only 1.0° apart. Note that the disc of Jupiter can be seen in the photos taken in broad daylight and with no use of a telescope. All shots were taken with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX300 camera using magnifications above 50x. Photoscape freeware was used to enhance contrast and sharpness and to reduce noise. Some images were also cropped to bring the pair closer to the center of the photos.
