Details:
A dense blanket of clouds had darkened the whole sky over Rio this afternoon. However, shortly before sunset a prominent glow suddenly appeared on the horizon (Alt.:3°,Azim.:296°). Amazingly, sunlight had found a breach amidst the prevailing altocumulus clouds and it was shining through a region of thinner stratus clouds. As a result, it was lighting up a small area of the sky and producing bright patterns that quickly changed as the Sun set. These photos were taken between 19:57 and 20:00 UT with a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX300 camera.
