Details:
I got treated to a stunning NLC display last night which was perhaps the brightest and complex display I have ever seen for early June in years of NLC observation. Peaking at type 4 brightness and illuminating fields it stretched across 80 degrees of sky with unreal white, blue and even green colour at the dead of night. Well defined bands, waves and lacunosus holes could be seen moving in real time with the naked eye passing over the stars 'Algol' and 'The Kids' within Auriga causing the stars to dim significantly. Here's a few images taken with a Canon 600D and 24-70mm lens with the clouds glowing over a country house outside of town.
