My previous attempt at recording the two diminutive moons of Mars, Phobos & Deimos, using my Mewlon 180 (a 7 inch F12 ‘scope) was made difficult by the moons appearing within one of the 6 light (diffraction) spikes caused by the Mewlon’s 3 vane secondary spider. Deimos was relatively easy but Phobos had to be gently teased out of the data.
A few days later, I tried again with a Celestron C9.25, which only has a central obstruction and no secondary vanes in which these moons could hide.
Here are the results with the following data and screen capture provided by SkyTools 3 Pro.
