Details:
As solar activity is winding down AR2546 is a gift for observers. This image shows three different views in white light, IR at 830 nm, and Hydrogen-Alpha. The white light view was taken with a Questar telescope and a Nikon D800, the infrared view was taken with a Questar telescope and a converted Nikon D700 with a 830 nm cutoff, while the Hydrogen Alpha image was taken with a Lunt 80 mm and a Nikon D800. All images are single RAW exposures processed with Photoshop. The 830 nm IR image is of interest because the Sun emits more IR than visible light.
