Details:
This was the apogee Full Moon - the smallest Full Moon of 2016 - rising over the Pacific Ocean from the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, on the night of Friday, April 22. Did the Moon look any smaller than usual? It didn't seem so, but from Australia it does look upside down compared to the views northern hemisphere observers see. Rising over the ocean produces the beautiful effect of the glitter path on the water below the Moon, in this case glowing a golden yellow with the low Moon.
