Details:
Mercury finally reached naked-eye visibility from Rio de Janeiro, although still barely. At sunset its altitude was a mere 10° in spite of its current 18° elongation from the Sun. In addition, the elusive planet was only 4° above the horizon when it popped out into today`s colorful twilight. These photos show it next to a nearby building just a few minutes before setting. They were taken with a Canon SX60 HS camera at 21:04-21:12 UT.
