This one I shot on March 21st in Tromsø, northern Norway. I had an idea for a while doing a portrait shoot of a person under wintry epic landscape and the auroras. With good help from my friend Christine Hals, this idea became a reality. Christine has a special relationship to winter and snow and she was the perfect match for this shoot. Christine did some vocals (kulning) in the Disney hit "Frozen". And while we stood there in the frozen river at -15C in the air, and Christine was singing, it was a special moment I can tell. The forecast for the evening was moderate and Kp levels was low. But suddenly levels jumped and we just had to hurry and get to location. After standin in the river for about 90min we finally got our reward, magnificent auroras and nice fairytale-like epic aurora portrait shot of the Snow Queen :)

I especially like how she seems to be rising up, out of the frozen river. Nice!
