Details:
I went out to photograph the geomagnetic storm but by the time it got dark the Kp index had dropped to 5 from 7. There was noticeable Aurora activity but nothing spectacular. I noticed the rest of the sky had a reddish hue so I took some photographs facing west and south. There was a very clear band of red airglow passing between the Pleiades and Orion and also below Orion. I took some full sky photos with my 8mm Sigma fisheye to see the extent of the airglow. This was the first time I have photographed red airglow; I have captured green airglow before. Photos taken with a Canon 6D DSLR and Sigma 20mm Art lens and a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens.
