Details:
A wonderful night of Northern Lights in Churchill, Manitoba with the Kp7 storm in progress as night fell, with curtains visible to the south in Orion. They soon moved north and covered the sky with ever-changing patterns. The greens were obvious but we also saw tinges of purples at the bottom edges at times. The cameras picked up the deeper reds. This is a selection of scenes with our tour group of aurora tourists enjoying the sky from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, at 58° North on the shores of a frozen Hudson Bay. By 2 a.m. only a few die-hards were still up watching for occasional substorms bringing outbursts of motion, colour and structure in the curtains. It was an amazing night.
