Details:
It was a typical summer afternoon and some mid-altitude clouds could be seen hanging high in the Western sky when I suddenly noticed iridescence in altocumulus formations some 10 degrees above the Sun. Then, sheltered in the shadow of a high wall, I could get a few shots of those interesting patterns produced by diffraction, partially hidden in the intense glare of the Sun. Photos were taken with a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX300 camera at 18:52-18:53 UT. Zoom is highest for the first image and lowest for the second one.
