Details:
This was a particularly tricky aurora to photograph and watch. It was really strong but the full moon hindered the spectacular colours. The aurora moved quickly and brightly across the sky from around 22.30 hours at a Southerly Bz of 6 at KP5, wind speed 592 with a proton density of only 1.2, so this didnt help. Nevertheless always a joy and very pretty under moonlight. Shot with Canon 40D F4, ISO800 15 secs.
