Details:
A possible sighting/chance photo of newly launched Topaz-4 spysat. This very bright satellite was in a west-of-south vector ( moderately retrograde orbit ) before dawn this morning , seen from NW Wyoming. My Heavens-Above satellite view log displayed no predicted visible satellites at that time in that direction ( SSW , 6: 25 AM - MST ) . I'm assuming that it's the newly launched Topaz-4 radarsat just launched on an Atlas V from Vandenberg AFB two days ago on a retrograde orbit. What else could it be ? Object passed into Earth's shadow a few seconds later. It was easily as bright as a good ISS pass and steady, not an Iridium. Oh by the way , that is planet Mars at upper right. and star Antares near the center of frame.. Nikon D5300 - ISO 1000 - 5 secs. at f/4.
