Details:
Had the last night of guiding for a 4 night tour for Lights over Lapland. The guests had seen auroras on two of the previous nights but not last night. Tonight we went up to the Aurora Sky Station and again had some nice but mild aurora and we used the time to get some nice aurora and star shots (the Kp index was showing between 1 and 2). We came down the chair lift and the aurora begin to grow by the time we got back down we had rapidly moving aurora and a great corona so we all stayed out till 3:30am. What a night the Kp seemed to stay between 1 and 2 so I'm guessing the magnetic field was fluctuating to cause these fantastic auroras?
