Details:
The alignment gets better each day as the bright Moon fades and soon to be gone. Mercury is only well placed for photography for very few minutes each morning, high enough to see but with the sky still not too bright. This is a further refinement of my capture technique using a Nikon D810 in APS mode to gain the 12 mm field of view with a 8 mm lens but using the superior resolution of the full frame sensor. This also reduces the fisheye distortion effect putting the planets almost in line but still wide enough to capture the view in one photo and to mimic the eyeball view. This image is four 5 second photos stacked for 20 seconds total exposure. The city of Tucson is below and in the background.
