Not that much of a great evening for Aurora Borealis, the sky offered us something much more rare and spectacular in a sense - cloud iridescence with a near to full moon! Working as a professional Northern Lights guide, I have seen all sorts of phenomenas in a night sky, but never I have seen such a colourful cloud in night sky. Literally, the colours were visible to bare human eye. No time to properly compose the photo, the rare quest was gone the next moment. Cloud iridescence is the occurrence of colors in a cloud similar to those seen in oil films on puddles, and is similar to irisation. It is a fairly uncommon phenomenon, most often observed in altocumulus, cirrocumulus, lenticular clouds and cirrus clouds. The colors are usually pastel, but can be very vivid.
