Details:
As we moved into the core of the solar storm associated with the filament eruption, i hit the shore as soon as darkness arrived in the hope of catching it before the clouds moved in and activity waned. I was delighted to catch the aurora just before it pushed north again. It appeared in patches high in the sky, indicating a stronger display during daylight hours, an arc almost overhead had broken up as darkness arrived. Soon afterwards, the cloud rolled in and when it eventually broke up again, the aurora was nothing more than a pale arc, low on the northern horizon and fighting against the strong moonlight.
