Sh2-224 Supernova Remnant Credit: DSS/WISE/ Giuseppe Donatiello (J2000) RA: 05h 26m 36s Dec: +42° 55′ This unusual supernova remnant in Auriga (catalogued also as VRO 42.05.01 and G166.0+4.3) has two components. One component has the typical appearance of a shelltype supernova remnant (SNR); the other, partly overlaps on shelles, has an irregular outline. Sh2-224 is located approximately at 16,000 light years from us.
