Details:
Sirius and Canopus between Texas trees photo by Mark Marquette Always a thrill to be five degrees farther south and see the bright star Canopus in Puppis the Poop Deck! It's hidden below the horizon at my East Tennessee home. But here at my sister's in San Angelo, Texas (31.45 latitude), its a bright, beautiful sight from 10 pm to midnight. Nikon equipment, 30 second exposure; star filter and strobe flash with blue gel.
