Details:
Had a night off from guiding for Lights Over Lapland so headed out to some night time photography. Solar activity was low but we had clear skies. Fairly far North here in Abisko so even it Kp 2 we can get fairly strong auroras like we did tonight. This image was taken at 1.6 of a second as I wanted to catch the movement of the aurora as much as possible. We have been getting a strange orange glow on the horizon towards the west. This has been going on for several days during the dark hours. No one knows what it is but it's certainly not light pollution. You can see a little of it in this image and there's no lights in that direction across the lake.
