Details:
Nights stayed mostly cloudy and rainy in the High Country of the Blue Ridge Mountains from late December, but the first night of New Years into the morning of the 2nd cleared enough for a look at the lovely pairing of Comet Catalina beside bright star Arcturus. Moonlight prevented seeing much detail in the comet’s tail. This image was made using a Nikon D7100 with a 180mm lens at f4, ISO 800. Stack of 9 exposures 25sec ea. on an iOptron Sky Tracker.
