I'm sure this happens every once in a while, but it is the first time I have seen it. This is the GOES east visible image from today. The Moon is visible in the upper left corner.

The frequency would depend upon the nodal period of lunar nutation and the lemniscate of the geosynchronous orbit of the GOES East Satellite.
