Just in from the most crazy night guiding (I think I've ever had). I had my clients out for the last night on a 4 day Christmas tour for Lights over Lapland. Tonight started off with 65 km per hour snow storm so I decided to take my group to a different site so we would be more sheltered from the wind. After an hour the blue hole of Abisko appeared and we had a crazy aurora storm. The aurora image here is taken at an 8th of a second that's how bright the aurora was. Then at about 11:30pm this amazing rainbow appeared around the moon. Looked a little like the nacreous clouds we have been seeing but at nearly midnight! The shot here is taken with the sauna we used to keep warm.

Great shot. Most certainly these are the nacreous clouds illuminated by moonshine instead of usual sunshine.
