Hi astrocb. The altitude of Mt.Hakusan is 2702m. And this location is 750m height. It was impossible to come here by car in usual December because of snow, Fortunately its possible this year. About the darkness of sky, refer to my another image(http://goo.gl/9LvS3y). This mountain is in the lower left of the image. Thanks
