Details:
On the evening of December 20, some auroral curtains started to appear. I watched them for a time under the moonlight, then I grabbed my camera and tripod. The auroras faded out but soon came back stronger then before, even reaching the zenith very briefly. Things calmed down after that, and deep sky auroras lingered for a while after but nothing of much note.
