As Comet Catalina crosses the 0d equatorial plane and moves further from bright Venus, the ion tail is showing extension of 3d in images with Canon T4i, 300mm f/5.6, iso 6400, stack of 6x120s, negative view on 2015/12/17 UT 12:02-13. Also a single image with Canon T6s, SV80mm f/6, iso 3200, 120s at UT12:23 showed 2.5d tail. The SkyXPro chart shows the field. Yesterday, 2015/12/16 UT11:29 to 11:44, Canon T6s, SV80mm f/6, iso 6400, stack of 10x60s negative image shows more detail in the ion tail structure.
