Startrails during 12 hours... A clear night in here, so I tried a 12 hour startrails. The first image was from 5:04 pm to 5:03 am during the night 3rd to 4th December. More than 1300 images are stacked. To make the second image I did not load the first frames which were taken at the beginning of the dusk so that the sky is no more blue and that we can see the stars lower on the horizon. The 3rd and 4th images are showing the setup: Tripod, Canon 5DMkII, lens Canon 16-35 f/2.8 @ 16mm, Kendrick micro-D controller, cover for the camera body, lens heater and 12V-65Ah homemade powerpack. The temperature came down to -2°C and the heater was adjusted to 25% only, because the forecast by Meteoblue was 50% moisture max during the night. And it worked ! Exposures time: 30 seconds f/3.2 ISO 200 only (to avoid most of airplanes lights). Canon remote switch RS-80N3 Kendrick Micro-D Controller. Enjoy !
