Details:
While photographing the southern lights near the wreck, Olivia at Bluff, Southland, NZ I caught a meteor shooting from above and burning out as it passed by. I could see the smoke vapours after it passed. Details: Canon 5D mark iii, 24 mm lens, 1.4 EF, ISO 3200, 15 sec, f/stop 2.8

Hi Tony!!

This is a once in a lifetime shot!

To be right there when it happens, put the camera in the right position and direction, shoot just when it appear and finally have all settings correct for the pic! This is GREAT!!!

Ive seen similar meteors when Ive photographing auroras but not got any so strong on a pic, just because my camera was in the wrong direction! Only one, but not in this size is caught by me on a pic with auroras.

A fat C O N G R A T S and I wish you all the best with this pic and your future photographing! :-)

Regards MagnuM.
