Details:
I watched just a glow for about an hour then it brightened to green to the naked eye, faded and faint pillars started forming, but light pollution got in the way obscuring the right side of the display. The show faded just before midnight PST.

Forgot to mention that I saw three bright fireballs while I was out there and two dim fast flashes.
