Details:
I am currently sailing along the Norwegian coast onboard the Hurtigruten vessel “MS Nordnorge”. On Oct 8, we crossed the Vestfjord between the Norwegian mainland and the Lofoten islands. While we observed the Sun setting over the open Atlantic Ocean, I was able to capture a series of green and blue flashes on the setting Sun. The last images also shows a rare, faint purple flash. Looking through my 600 mm telephoto lens, the blue-green flash was very bright and obvious. I could not see the purple part, though.
