The clouds were lovely...or they would have been on any other ordinary evening. After days and days of glorious sunshine and star sparkling nights, why oh why must there by clouds on this night of all nights?! With several pleas to the sky and many a curse blown at the gathering clouds, the sun set, the twilight hued, and the excitement grew. The moon rose in shades of orange and cream, with atmospheric distortions playing delightfully with the scene. Before long the moon was swallowed by shades of twilight iridescence amidst those interfering masses. It was then a frustrating but exciting game of "Peek-a-boo" with the Harvest Moon for the first half or so of the Total Lunar Eclipse. Surprisingly video captured what short exposure would not. Most gratefully, though, we were able to see part of the eclipse and I was able, with the toe-warming assistance of a Sheltie Collie, to capture enough images to create collages. As soon as the shadow brinked Totality the clouds shut out the light, overcast the horizons, and with unappreciated stubbornness refused even a hinting glimpse the rest of the night. Ah well, Nature...
