Many folks gathered on the lawn of the Washington Monument in DC Sunday evening for observing the 9/27/15 supermoon eclipse. Clouds were a challenge but the incredible event, setting and connecting with those gathered was well worth the effort. Having others around with the same idea for a great location for viewing was a lot of fun. At first, many people showed up, some with cameras some with families on blankets. The moon would teasingly pop out through heavy clouds and camera shutters would begin to fire – click, click, click. Later, only a dozen or so dedicated lunar clickers persisted. By 11pm things got completely socked in and the show was mostly over. The photographers joked about the clouds, shared camera settings and a little about each other. We made friends under the same moon the rest of the world was watching.
