Details:
Warnings were calling for a Kp6 display last night, Sept 11, and it did come up nicely but wasn't quite the spectacle I had hoped. I went out to Dinosaur Provincial Park in southern Alberta and set up 3 cameras for time-lapse sequences. Here are a few still frames from the evening, including an image of an odd isolated arc in the eastern sky for me (those farther east in Saskatchewan saw it to their west) that stayed stationary but pulsed up and down in brightness, appearing and disappearing in place. In all, it was a beautiful evening amid the badlands on a dark moonless night.
