Details:
After sunset as the sky was changing from blue to darkness I noticed some "wisps" of aurora high in the west and then a few minutes later a narrow river of faint light overhead. This was from my back yard in the middle of town so I knew we could be in for a bright, active display. Minutes later the sky erupted in the northeast, north, and west. My plans for getting to bed early were put on hold. Although not a serious photo shoot I couldn't resist running in the house for my camera gear. These shots were all from my back yard. It was a magnificent display. The good storming last for about 20-30 minutes. My wife was outside with me and she was very impressed with the display!
