Close to last chance to image AR2403 as it leaves. I think I've maxed out resolution with my current scope and may have to look at a larger one. Difference between first and second image pairs is number of pixels. TS 115 mm APO triplet; Baader wedge; DMK41; 3X Barlow; SharpCap 2.6; Registax 6; PSP7. East/West not reversed.

Hi Bernard;

Yes, I thought you might not like the first pair and, I appreciate your candor. Remember though, one mans ugly may be another mans beauty. I used the Resize function in PSP7 to increase the matrix from 730 x 564 to 1980 x 1529 to see what difference it might make.

Meanwhile, you have really got me thinking about a large uncoated reflector with a good sized focal length. My engineering and designing wheels are turning rapidly. Id place the imaging device at prime focus with a Baader continuum and ND filter. Will keep you posted.

Cheers,

Bill

LOL for the ugly beauty :-)
Good idea for the reflector, but keep safe: its a huge collector of light even with a dealumined primary and with the Baader safety wedge I use not less than a ND3.0 + a Continuum + an UV/IRcut before putting my eye behind the 40mm SWA eyepiece (which gives the whole disk with my Meade 14 inches @f/10)...
