Details:
Faint arcs of aurora across the northern sky developed into very active and bright auroral curtains, showing faint upper red OI color and occasionally red lower (Type B) N2+ emissions. This substorm lasted for about an hour but clouds covered the recovery phase. Purple 3914A color was seen in the magnetic zenith as the aurora swept over the observing site. Canon 30D. 21-24mm focal length. f/4, 2-8 seconds. ISO 1600.
