Details:
I headed out to check the sky shortly after 10:30 pm EDT, and although there was still a fair bit of light in the northwest I could see the faint beginnings of some auroras in the north. There were also some clouds moving in from the northwest, but fortunately, these mostly blew by and dispersed until around 3:00 am when a storm finally moved in. The auroras started out with some nice reds & purples as well as greens, and built up to where they reached past being directly overhead. Later they reverted back to being just bright green, forming an undulating arc mostly to the north. Shot with Pentax K-5 with Pentax 10-17mm fisheye lens set to 10mm, f/3.5, ISO 3200 at times and ISO 6400 at other times. Shutter speeds of 4 to 20 seconds.
